A Place of Honor

Well – there just hasn’t been time for blogging as of late – so I apologize for not adding something more current the past few weeks. Ever since we learned of our upcoming National Geographic trip, life has been somewhat of a blur!

I have some exciting website projects I’m trying very hard move forward, and tomorrow night – we have a reception at Governor Jennifer Granholm and First Gentleman Daniel Mulhern’s residence. Yes – you read that correctly – at their residence in Lansing!

A group of artists were chosen to have their works featured in the Governor’s Residence, through a competition that concluded in July. It was coordinated through the Midland Center for the Arts, and all of us went through three-round jurying process which concluded with the First Family selecting the final pieces themselves.

Unfortunately, I do not know who all of the other artists are – except for friend and fellow photographer, Steven Huyser-Honig. Other artists who I know have works featured are Robert DeJonge, and Bruce MCombs. Russ and I are looking forward to the reception as it is quite a place of honor to have our Governor enjoying my photo images personally for a year. The pieces are available for purchase, but will remain in the home through July of 2009.
