Onward – and Upward!

OK! Now that Pure Michigan Photo Contest is behind me (or at least the work on it) – it’s time to move onto other things.

My next bit of business is to create a series of prints to hang at the Grand Rapids Public Library. The Library will be featuring an exhibit titled Picture Michigan’s National Parks to celebrated the release of Ken Burn’s upcoming documentary on our National Park System. The National Parks: America’s Best Idea is a six-episode series directed by Ken Burns and written and co-produced by Dayton Duncan and will air September 27, 2009 on PBS.

For those of you living in the West Michigan area, you can catch it on WGVU. WGVU also has a section of their website dedicated to news and events surrounding the Park series.

Four West Michigan photographers will present their images from Michigan’s National Parks:

Our exhibit will run concurrent with the big ArtPrize event, which is good news for us photographers. The GR Public Library is not participating in ArtPrize itself, but hopefully that big event will bring many folks to downtown Grand Rapids – who may also stop to in see this exhibit. Dianne Carroll-Burdick is also participating in ArtPrize.
