The 2009 ArtPrize Entry

The Michigan Moments Series – 2009

Fine art canvas, gallery-wrapped prints, sprayed with a UV coating and meticulously stretched on a frame 1.5″ thick.

This process allows for the image to continue around the outside for a very unique, special piece of artwork! The image below is an example (not my image – just a sample only to show the style):

There will be at least 16 images total – not all of them are ready to be seen here, but will be by August 20. Michigan residents must add the 6% sales tax. If you are not in the West Michigan area and require shipping – please contact me to make shipping arrangements, there will be a fee.

This is my first solid mock-up of my installation for SanChez. It was set up in 1:18 of the scale of the wall, which is 36″ in length. The images are 36×24, 20×30 or 18×12 in size.

If you click on the image below, you can see it even larger – just know that it you’ll end up having to scroll “sideways” to take it all in!

Tips to Care for Canvas

Prints can be wiped with a slightly damp, clean, chemical-free cloth.

For optimum longevity, keep out of direct sunlight. Don’t place stretched prints too close to direct heat or high variations in cold/warm.

Canvas can be tightened if it becomes loose. You can purchase canvas retentioner at any craft store or on the internet. It can be sprayed on the BACK of the canvas and let dry overnight or for a few hours.

Touch up – You can touch up small spots in the canvas with thin-tipped markers if your canvas gets scratched or damaged. Be very careful when touching up specks. Artists can also use paint to touch up small blemishes if needed.
