It’s official – I’ve just registered and paid my $50 fee for ArtPrize 2010. Now the prospective venues can see my ArtPrize profile to review my works. Artist registration is open only through May 27, and the matching process begins on June 17, 2010.
Only a few months after ArtPrize 2009 took Grand Rapids by storm – I’ve been asked numerous times if I planned to enter the competition again.
I had to give this question a lot of time and consideration, actually. The inaugural ArtPrize was so unique, so fantastic, so well-received – it’s hard as an artist to play a game of “Top That!”. Like many artists, I suspect we put all of our heart and soul into our exhibits to make them extra-special last year.
But I DO have a project in mind – and my current goal is to see it come to fruition by the time ArtPrize exhibits are being installed. To see what I may be photographing – and to help contribute to the large project – please continue here…
I’m actively seeking a venue location, preferably not in a restaurant environment for this year’s competition. The number of pieces I produce for the total entry will be dependent on the space offered by a venue. I would also hope to have a multimedia component of the exhibit as I did last year – but it will not be a requirement of a venue location.

Grand Rapids, MI, United States 49503 San Chez consistently receives awards for service and food from publications such as Grand Rapids Magazine and On the Town. Readers and publishers alike have consistently showered San Chez Bistro as “Best of” awards as well as for “Best Ethnic restaurant,” “Best restaurant downtown,” “Best atmosphere and ambiance,” and “Best appetizers.” San Chez Bistro has also been given two national awards, “One of the 50 best Hispanic restaurants in the U.S.A.” by Hispanic Magazine and “Best restaurant in Town & Best Spanish Restaurant” by Where the Locals Eat, Magellan Press. |

The mezzanine level at SanChez Bistro – come up and enjoy 18 large canvas photography pieces and three multimedia presentations on the TV!
While the restaurant very much appreciates your patronage, I’d like to remind folks that do NOT have to be “dining” at SanChez to appreciate the 13 artists on display. It’s a venue like any other ArtPrize venue – come in and experience!
