When Matt’s book Steelhead Dreams debuted in 2001, it was heralded as the new “bible” on the Great Lakes steelhead fly-fishing. Now, ten years later Matt Supinski is back with a fully updated version of this bestseller.

I’m pleased to have played a small part in this new book release – I photographed a number of the fishing flies and contributed an image of Lake Michigan for the intro page written by Matt.

This happens to be the fourth time I’ve placed as a finalist in this competition, which is awesome considering there’s about 400 entries to start – before it’s narrowed down to the “Top Ten” images by member voting.

Niedzwiecki is passionate about capturing nature’s art and beauty through photography. Her show entitled, “Wonders of West Michigan,” exhibits the natural experiences of West Michigan presented through her camera lens. The exhibit highlights the calm peace and serenity found in our unique region from South Haven to Mackinac City. Featured in her work is scenery of area meadows, abundant wildlife, calming inland lakes, breathtaking sunsets illuminating Lake Michigan, brilliant color changes and more.

The natural beauty Niedzwiecki captures has earned her awards in many art and photography competitions. In August 2009, she was awarded second place in the Pure Michigan photo competition, a highly-competitive event sponsored through Travel Michigan.

The exhibit at Pine Rest will run from Jan. 9 until April 2, 2013. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional times are available by appointment. There is no admission fee. For more information, please call 616/222-4530.
