And the week leading up to my birthday continued to be fun. For example – I opened up my mailbox Friday to discover the rubber duck I purchased at the Lowell Riverwalk had crossed the finish line – and I won $100!

However, that money went directly to the Secretary of State to pay for my license plate renewal. Don’t you think the least the Secretary of State could do is give you a slice of birthday cake or a Little Debbie or a Twinkie when you go in there and pay for your plates? If I hand someone $108 for a license plate – I’d like something more fun than a sticker handed to me by a disgruntled State employee.

They KNOW it’s your birthday when you go in there. I think it would help improve customer relations! They could at LEAST say, “Happy Birthday!” to you…

The show is sponsored by the Lowell Area Arts Council.

If you’d like to stop by and say “Hello” – I should be at the public reception which will be held this Sunday, February 18 from 2-4 pm.

For more information and directions to the gallery, visit www.lowellartscouncil.org. Hope to see you there!

For those of you curious about this image – it was taken in August during our family summer vacation to Hocking Hills State Park in Southern Ohio. It was very, VERY hot at the time, and the rising morning sun created a mist of humidity in the cool green forest. Very interesting place for photography!
